Being thankful.

What are you thankful for? I’d be interested to know. Too often I have to admit that I’m not as grateful as I should be. I should be more thankful for the many things I have been blessed with rather than focus too much on the challenges.

This week I received a very generous donation to 60@60. So encouraging and I’m extremely grateful to this supporter. It’s so like the Lord to totally surprise you when you can’t see where the money is coming from…

I have today finished my 52nd activity; 60 random acts of kindness. I was also by East Beach very briefly. It reminded me that sometime in the next few weeks I need to do 60 strokes in the sea.

Again, though, I want to emphasise this whole thing is not about me but about those who your gifts go to help. The story of Geovani is a very moving one; one of three boys who were seriously injured by an attack by rebels in the Central African Republic a few years ago. He has been through some very hard times both physically and emotionally. But his is still a story of hope and extraordinary forgiveness; a story of thankfulness despite loss. Your gifts make a huge difference to communities and individuals like Geovani.

Thanks as ever for your support.

Turning 60 is a door to a new decade. I want to use these years positively, starting with the next one. So I want it to be a year of trying different things as well as familiar one and to do a couple of challenges. 60 things at 60 with the aim of raising £6 000 for the charity Open Doors, serving persecuted Christians around the world, many who live with very little. Would you be part of the adventure with me?
